Kendo warriors in combat, fully equipped Roman legionaries, and a fashion show featuring First World War uniforms. Armoured vehicles from Afghanistan and light art installation. Join us for Culture Night at the Danish War Museum.
Hear the fierce roar of the kendo warriors as they battle. See military uniforms from the First World War and the Roman Empire. Hold an AK-47. Climb inside a real military vehicle or experience a unique light art installation. Culture Night at the Danish War Museum will be full of battle and art.
Only access with a Culture Night pass
You need a Culture Night Pass to take part in Culture Night. It costs DKK 125 and can be purchased digitally on the Culture Night website.
The Culture Night Pass gives you access to all events during Culture Night, and you can bring two children under the age of 12 free of charge.
The Culture Night Pass also gives the pass holder and two children under the age of 12 free access to buses, trains and the Metro throughout the Greater Copenhagen area from 4 pm to 4 am in zones 1–99.
Something to eat and drink
You can satisfy your hunger and thirst among battling warriors and military uniforms.
Snacks, coffee and drinks will be available for purchase at the museum in the courtyard.

Here, you can touch and climb
Climb inside an Eagle 1, a Jülcat, or one of the other vehicles used by the Danish Armed Forces in Afghanistan when 'The Veteran Armoured Vehicle and Military Vehicle Association of the Guard Hussar Regiment' comes to Culture Night. You can also try holding different weapons, such as an AK-47, an MP40 submachine gun from the Second World War, or an M10 used by Danish soldiers today.

Hear the Roar of the Kendo Warriors!
On Culture Night, the Copenhagen Kendo Club joins forces with Seidokan Japan Center’s taiko group to showcase Japanese warrior culture to the sound of fierce taiko drums – perhaps even bringing a samurai suit of armour to life. We promise it won’t be a quiet affair when they swing their swords and let out battle cries in true kendo warrior style. Battlefield Fashion
It will be a fashion show with a difference when the soldiers of Westfront 1916 march down the cobbled passageway of the Artillery Hall. See their uniforms, equipment and field artillery from the First World War.

Let the light out
Experience Båll & Brand’s light art installation 'Timeframe' on the museum façade facing Tøjhusgade. Four light installations connect the Danish War Museum, The Royal Danish Library, the Danish Jewish Museum and the Danish Parliament in one spectacular light artwork spreading across Slotsholmen.
